I’ve been a Management Executive with STB for a little over a year and so far, it’s been a blast. Among my most memorable experiences are the trips I’ve made to various countries as a representative of the board, my stint at the Singapore Visitor Centre and the numerous training courses I’ve had the opportunity to participate in.
My main role as a market desk officer in the Education Services division is to market the Singapore Education brand to the markets I cover. This includes organising roadshows, seminars, media and trade familiarisation trips, among other things.
To me, there’s no better time than now to play a part in growing Singapore tourism. The industry is going through an amazing boom time at the moment and the opportunities are endless. Being in STB puts me in a fantastic position to spot future business and developmental potential, and the best part is, I know I can count on making my visions a reality. The flexible and open environment at STB assures me that I don’t need to worry about expressing my opinions, even if they are contrary.
Being entrusted with big responsibilities and projects despite being a fresh graduate has certainly put me ahead of my peers and given me an edge. I’d strongly recommend this programme to all graduates who are ambitious, eager to learn about and contribute actively to the Singapore tourism landscape, and enjoy doing different things everyday!
