With the global tourism booming and the competition growing, working at STB has never been more challenging, dynamic and intensely fun!
Every day is different as I get to constantly keep my finger on the pulse of the latest trends and look out for new opportunities and directions. More than that, working here trains me to have foresight and see the bigger picture when involved in undertakings that sometimes require a long period of development.
Admittedly, working here has made me even prouder to be a Singaporean. Now that I'm more in the know about the latest fun and hip happenings taking place throughout the year, I'm able to better appreciate what a fun and exciting place Singapore is! Beyond the usual tourist attractions, I've also uncovered a rich history and heritage that we all have. And that makes it easier for me to sell it to the tourist or business community.
It's been four years since I started work at STB and I've been fortunate to pick up numerous experiences from various functional rotations.
Travel & Hospitality division opened up my eyes to issues around hoteliers and travel agents and Planning division helped me gain business acumen to tourism investments and how grants can be assessed. Thereafter, I learnt more strategic work in the Leisure Planning division, where we plan ahead for building future tourism products for visitors of Singapore.
Now, I'm even given a secondment opportunity to work with Capitaland. Under their integrated Leisure Entertainment and Conventions division, I suss out both domestic and global business opportunities for the company.
Even as I serve the secondment, I still feel lucky to be able to work in a unique environment where work is fun and fun is work! Be a part of us!
