Starting my career in the BTMICE division provided me the frontline opportunity to partake in key MICE tradeshows, roadshows and overseas seminars to meet with various key industry players and clientele to understand their needs and eventually, win or secure that additional visitor for Singapore. In contrast however, my current role in the Integrated Resorts division challenged my ability to balance national interests against commercial / business decisions to meet the common objectives for the successful developments of the 2 integrated resorts. Due to the immensity of the scale of the IR project coupled with tight timelines, the entire team was stretched to our maximum potential which translated to long late nights and tough decisions which had to be made. It was however extremely fulfilling and a huge pleasure to be working with these colleagues, whom I've grown to trust and rely on and have become close friends with due to this project. Overall, my 6 years spent in STB has been quite challenging and enriching due to the opportunities which had been provided that helped to broaden my horizons as well as honed my skills in relationship management and project/event management work. Edward, Bernice, Susanah, Shameem, Sandra, Melissa, Chris, Cindy... and the list goes on.... the team and the people that I've worked with are what makes working in STB an absolute joy.
